Today I'd thought I would share with you my everyday breakfast that I am absolutely obsessed with! It's dead simple and really fills you up! I start out by popping a piece of bread in the toaster, then I heat up a frying pan and melt some butter in it. Next, I crack an egg and carefully drop it into the pan, trying to contain the whites as much as I can. While that is cooking, I then slice open an avocado and check the toast. Once the top of the egg is mostly cooked (still clear in middle, edges cooked), I flip it in the pan and let it cook for about 30 seconds. Then, I just spread the avocado on the toast and top that with the fried egg. All in all, this takes me about 5 minutes total. It's super delicious and healthy, too!
Took a trip to Hell (aka the mall) to pick up some things at Sephora. I needed a new moisturizer since my skin is currently throwing me for a loop by becoming extremely dehydrated and flakey (ew) and a birthday present for one of my friends. Ended up purchasing a new mask, mascara, and primer sample to try out, typical Sephora style. Also, hit another 100 point perk, so I chose a mascara primer mini, which I am LOVING. Details after the jump! I remember my first set of makeup brushes that I purchased- a set of 5, pink cheetah-printed plastic brushes from Forever 21. Since then, my collection has definitely improved, but as I ventured into F21 the other day, I took another look at the beauty section. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. They've amped up the packaging and have added many awesome products to the collection. I picked up a Lip & Cheek Stain in the color rose, a dupe for Benefit's famous Benetint. under lights-- hello laptop in the background! :) in the sun Left: freshly applied Right: blended & dried Pros: Great natural color, dries quickly, high quality, lots of product for price (.317 oz for $3.80) Cons: Gross flavor (fake rose), hard to apply (stained my fingers or brush trying to blend) Overall, I think this product is a great dupe for Benetint, and the price cannot be beat! Now, to pick up the other shade.... Today I thought I'd swatch my favorite palette of the moment-- Urban Decay's Naked 2. This palette, the second in the Naked dynasty, has more neutrals and slightly cooler shades than those of the Naked 1, but nonetheless should work for most skin tones and eye colors. Below are pictures of the palette and swatches of the shades. Enjoy! Let me know in the comments which Naked palette is your fave! L to R: Foxy- Matte, cream color (yellow-toned white)- I love using this for a matte browbone highlight! Half Baked- Glittery gold Bootycall- Shimmery pinkish-white (Also great for highlighting) Chopper- Glittery copper- very hard to get payoff on lid Tease- Matte purplish brown, great for blending in crease- I also use this to fill in my brows!) Snakebite- Shimmery brown- great for smokey eyes! Suspect- Shimmery beige- amazing when used on lid (alone or as part of a smokey eye) Pistol- Shimmery greige Verve- Shimmery light-grey- also hard to get payoff on lid YDK- Glittery bronze- VERY glittery, great for a glitzy look! Busted- Dark satin brown Blackout- Matte black, WOW... one of the best black shadows I've tried! Great payoff. Stopped by the local juicery, Juiceland to pick up a "Hydrator" (watermelon, peach, lemon smoothie) that was the perfect thing for a 104 degree day! Nice and cold, refreshing, and of course, healthy! Much better for you than a sugary snocone! I love this place so so much... another favorite is the "Hot Pink" juice, which is delicious. What's your fave juice/smoothie? MS MR | Secondhand Rapture I LOVE THIS BAND. After being featured again and again on Pretty Little Liars (best worst show. ever.), I began listening to this band. Really good chill music, mixed with some happier ones. The songs range from the dark and broody "Dark Doo Wop" to the eclectic, almost Western inspired "Salty Sweet". The album itself doesn't seem to fit one genre, but the songs by themselves are great to listen to. Makeup I used today... Super easy, super natural... what more could I want? 1. Maybelline One by One Volum Express Mascara 2. Garnier Skin Renew Under Eye Concealer 3. EOS Lipbalm in Summerberry 4. Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation 5. Sonia Kashuk Concealer Quad 6. EcoTools Powder Brush 7. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (Foxy on lide & browbone, Tease in crease) Summer. When the days get longer, the temperatures hotter, and the books... well, the books get worse (better?). During these hot day we've been having lately, I've been enjoying grabbing a "summer book" and heading out to lounge around by the pool. These books usually don't require much brainpower to read, which equals massive sunburns from falling asleep reading in the sun... not that that's ever happened to me, of course ;) "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell (Eleanor & Park, anyone?) follows the Simon Snow (a vampire version of Harry Potter) obsessed Cath and her twin sister, "it-girl", Wren. After their mother left them while they were young, the two took to looking after their mentally unstable father, but when the time comes for the two to go off to college, they grow apart as love and friendship changes the two girls. It's a perfect pool book, and I highly recommend it to those who loved Eleanor & Park, or whomever is searching for an easy, summer read. Yesterday I headed down to Barton Springs with some friends. VERY adventurous day. In Austin, there are lots of hippy places around town, but Barton seems to top the list. Lots of topless women and naked children. But, I mean, it IS Austin... Keep Austin Weird, I guess? Anyways, after a few hours of sunbathing and dipping into the freezing water, we headed up to the food shack where I got one of my summer staples- a blue raspberry and coconut snocone. Yummy, unnatural, sugary heaven... Today I was lucky enough to see an old friend and go shopping at The Domain, a local outdoor mall. After a few hours of shopping, we grabbed lunch at The Steeping Room, a sort of upscale Starbucks. I ordered a "Moj-tea-to", a fake mojito made of lots of yummy lime and green tea goodness. For food, I got a cranberry walnut scone with honey butter, one of the best scones I've ever had in my life, no joke. After lunch, we then went out for another hour or so of shopping before going back to my place for dinner. Overall, a lovely day, and I'm glad I got to catch up with one of my best friends. |
